Image of the Week: Singh Tartan
Baron Sirdar Iqbal Singh is a Sikh gentleman who has a passion for his adopted home of Scotland. Among other things he owns a Scottish island, lives in a Scottish castle, has had Robert Burns’ poetry translated into Punjabi and has vociferously promoted the cultural heritage of Scotland to great public effect. Uniquely, he hit upon the idea of having a tartan created for his clan – i.e. the Singh community. Pictured here by the Singh twins wearing his tribe’s colours, is Lord Iqbal Singh represented in the miniature style with the newly assigned family crest above him.
